launched in the fall of 2014 by sara radin, cultureisland was a platform for interviewing, featuring and collaborating with emerging creatives.
sara r. radin is a writer and curator based in brooklyn, ny. full time, she is the youth culture editor for wgsn, where she consults global brands on consumer trends for millennials and generation z. she started her career as a concept designer for converse, translating art and cultural trends for the merchandising and design teams, and working on the company's global, seasonal creative direction. there, she started an employee exhibition program that gave her colleagues an opportunity to show their creative work around the office. following her time there, she began curating pop-up art events and workshops on her own, giving opportunities to emerging creatives and bringing their art to the walls of stores and spaces in new york, los angeles, montreal and london.
she's hosted over 20 events and partnered with various nonprofits such as projectart, art start, blue jeans go green, and rainn to raise money and awareness about a range of causes.
